I studied scenic painting and rendering at North Carolina School of the Arts, so a lot of my paintings are theatrical in nature. Some are intended as backdrops to scenes, while others are illustrations of a set design. I also enjoy creating packages and labels for products used onstage.

Though I prefer to work in acrylic, I use whatever media are appropriate for the subject (oil pastels, gouache, sepia inks, watercolors, etc.). Small works are often Liquitex acrylics on watercolor paper, while large paintings may be executed in color-rich latex paint on plywood. I have recently begun experimenting with Copic illustration markers, so look for new samples in this space soon!
